The Orion Lions Club strives to help people in our local community. Over fifty years ago, the Orion club was formed to join other Lions across the country in their mission to empower volunteers to serve their community in meeting humanitarian needs with a particular focus on the sight and hearing impaired. Over the course of the last 50 plus years your Orion Lion Club has reached out across the community with that very focus in mind.

The Orion Lions Club of Today
The Orion club members, like all Lions Clubs, work to serve our community as much as possible. Lions have built and maintained picnic shelters in Central and Love Parks. Lions have donated benches, trash containers and flower planters on Main Street and continue to adorn the planters each year with flowers. Along with the Orion Fall Festival and the Village of Orion, Lions helped fund play ground equipment at our community parks.

Annually Lions sponsor a National Honor Society Honors Night for graduating high school seniors and Arian Awards for Orion High School. At the beginning of each school year Lions organize a School Supplies Program to help local kids obtain the tools they need to brighten their futures. Additionally, Lions supply nutritional baskets for our residents at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Likewise, a few times a year Lions treat the Orion Senior Citizens and other residents to free meals.

There are so many things that seem to just be routine to Lions, like our Highway clean up program or our eye glasses and hearing programs, actions that not only benefit our local community but also enhance our extended community and ultimately our world.

We are a group of men and women of all ages who are willing to give of their time and resources to our community, other organizations and individuals whom ask for our help. We believe that improving our community and helping to improve the lives of the individuals within our community we, as individuals, then will leave the world a better place for everyone.
